Rwanda

About this partnership

The Partnership to Rwanda started in 2005 when the Halifax Metro Vineyard Church in Nova Scotia, Canada sent out a missionary family, Pat, Val, Joel and Brendan Finnerty, to Kigali Rwanda. Within a few months God connected them with a young Rwandan, Antoine Uwamungu.

With this young man, the Finnertys began the process of planting the first Vineyard in Rwanda. In 2008 a team from Hope Vineyard Church went on a scouting mission to see if God was calling them to work in Rwanda. Their connection with the Finnertys, Antoine and the fledgling church was nothing short of amazing. Hope Vineyard created the USA Rwanda Partnership that works closely with the other Partnership Leaders from Canada and South Africa. The initial Vineyard Church, Muyange Vineyard, has recently planted a new church in another part of Kigali and has plans in the works for a second church plant in the near future. The Finnertys have recently finished their assignment to help establish a Vineyard Church and are returning to Halifax. This begins a new phase in the Vineyard movement in Rwanda.
