Nepal, officially the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal, is a landlocked country located in South Asia. Nepal is among the poorest and least developed countries in the world, with about one-quarter of its population living below the poverty line. Nepal is heavily dependent on remittances. Agriculture is the mainstay of the economy, providing a livelihood for more than 70% of the population.
