Central Mexico

About this partnership

Vineyard Partners Central Mexico formed in 1990 to support and partner with La Viña churches and ministries to see churches planted, lives changed, and the Kingdom of God advancing throughout Central Mexico.

The first La Viña was planted in Fresnillo, with several more churches birthed out of that church in the Fresnillo area. Currently there are La Viña churches now working in many areas of Mexico, including the states of Zacatecas, Sinaloa, Jalisco, Baja, Tamaulipas, Durango, Sonora, Veracruz, Guanajuato, Nuevo Leon, and Mexico City.

Current goals:

  • To support the national leadership team in Mexico as they work together to raise up leaders and build a strong church planting movement. (website)
  • To provide support and encouragement to Mexican pastors and churches through training, leadership development, resources, and sending long term missionaries and short term teams.
  • To raise vision and participation among Vineyard churches in the US to be involved in God’s plans for Mexico (our closest neighbor).

About Mexico

Mexico is a country between the U.S. and Central America beaches on its Pacific and Gulf of Mexico coastlines and a diverse landscape of mountains, deserts and jungles. Per capita income is roughly one-third that of the US; income distribution remains highly unequal. Mexico has become the United States' second-largest export market and third-largest source of imports.

Partnership Leaders:
Jon and Sue Marsden

We have been serving in Mexico as a part of Vineyard Partners Central Mexico since 1996 and leading the partnership since October 2012. It is a privilege to work with US churches who love partnering with our friends in Mexico and serving them as they plant churches and reach people in this beautiful nation. We planted River Heights Vineyard in Inver Grove Heights, MN in 1990 and currently serve there as staff pastors.
