About this partnership
Since 2001, the Honduras partnership has been working to identify indigenous leaders and pastors, provide them with hands-on training, and equip them to plant churches in their nation. Our goal is to establish a self-sustaining church planting movement in Honduras.
There are currently two planted and established Vineyard churches and two church adoptions in Honduras. All are pastored and led by native Hondurans. Our focus is on developing relationships with the leaders of the churches and church plants that allow us to speak into their churches and their lives through encouragement, council, and friendship. We provide resources, hold training conferences, and bring short-term missions teams that help with training, equipping, outreach, construction projects, etc. We desire to keep encouraging and strengthening the existing churches and church plants in Honduras.
Honduras is a Central American country with Caribbean Sea coastlines to the north and the Pacific Ocean to the south. Honduras, the second poorest country in Central America, suffers from extraordinarily unequal distribution of income, as well as high underemployment. Honduras’s economy depends heavily on US trade and remittances.
